Dr. Tanya Lowrey grew up in Niagara on the Lake and currently lives in St. Catharines with her husband, 2 daughters, 2 dogs (Bella and Honey), and 1 cat (Nori). Her love for animals is obvious, she will go above and beyond to ensure all animals are treated with compassion and love.

Dr. Tanya joined Huntington Animal Hospital in 2010 and became an owner in 2012. Dr. Tanya graduated from the University of Guelph in 2005 with a Master of Science Degree in Human Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. Upon graduation, she was accepted to the Ontario Veterinary College and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.

Dr. Tanya began her career working at the Niagara Veterinary Emergency Clinic where she gained valuable experience caring for animals in an urgent and critical care setting. She now commits herself to continuing education and is currently practicing acupuncture and rehabilitation at Huntington Animal Hospital.

Dr. Tanya spends her free time walking her dogs, practicing yoga, running and rescuing animals.

Growing up in Fonthill, Dr. Angela always knew she wanted to be a vet, subjecting her dogs, horse and various pocket pets to routine “examinations” on a regular basis.  Nowadays, she lives in St. Catharines with her crazy but sweet Bullmastiff Drogon.

Dr. Angela received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from McMaster University in 1998, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004, with some time off in between working at the Wildlife Forensic Lab at Trent University.  Throughout vet school, she worked in the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit, learning directly from their talented and knowledgeable staff.

After graduation, she moved back to the Niagara region and has been working in small animal practice ever since, joining the Huntington team in 2021. She is a Level 2 Fear Free certified practitioner and is invested in ensuring that all pets are handled with dignity and kindness and in a minimally stressful way beginning from their very first visit.

When not at work, you will find her being walked by the dog, with her nose in a book, or trying out new recipes (half of which are destined to fail, but this doesn’t stop her from trying).  She’s also a pretty big Raptors fan and can spend hours discussing the team (so don’t get her started).

Holly started working in the Veterinary field as a kennel attendant back in 2008. She later moved to Ottawa where she spent several years working as a Veterinary Assistant at a large Veterinary Emergency and Referral center.

She first came to Huntington in 2017 to complete her Vet Tech co-op placement. Following her graduation from the Veterinary Technology program at St. Lawrence College, we happily welcomed her back to Huntington to work with us. During her first few months here, she achieved her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) status. She also spent a short stint working in the Biomedical Research field where she earned her Registered Laboratory Animal Technician (RLAT) status, while still working part-time here at Huntington. We welcomed her back as our full-time Practice Manager in 2021, although she can still be found working with your furry family members around the hospital.

In her spare time, you can usually find her baking, reading, and spending time with her family. Holly lives in Niagara on the Lake with her young family and they share their home with rescue cats; Fergie and Bruce.

Michaela has been working in the Veterinary field since 2006. She first met Dr. Tanya in 2009 when they worked together at the emergency clinic. Michaela joined the Huntington team in early 2021.

She grew up in the Niagara region on a farm and has always been surrounded by animals. Her and her family share their home with a couple horses and two dogs (Benjamin aka Mashed Potato and Maeve).

Alisha graduated in 2011 from Seneca College with her Veterinary Technician diploma in hand. She has grown to learn the many ins and outs of the veterinary world and has been known by some as a “jack of all trades”, taking on any new challenge presented to her. Her love of animals started young when she attended a summer horse back riding camp. That one week became many and led to working on a horse farm and competitive showing, years later. Alisha has worked in the field since graduation but began a new journey with Huntington in March 2023.

Alisha is Fear Free Certified. She shares her home with her fiancé and their loveable rescue cat, Jack. They also have a new addition; a cuddly and smart German Wirehaired Pointer named Gunther. When not working she can be found finishing projects on her home (that never seem to end), cooking new recipes (thanks Pinterest!), or grabbing a coffee with friends.

Melanie joined the Huntington Animal Hospital team in 2010. She enjoys getting to know clients and their pets and keeping things organized.

She lives with her husband Cliff and their two dogs Banner and Thea (bully mixes). In her free time she likes going for hikes, reading and spending time with family.

After completing an English degree at Brock University, Beth’s path took her through several jobs before she began her career in the veterinary field in 2001.  She joined the Huntington team in October 2021. Her journey has always incorporated her love of animals, including horseback riding, an interest in dog training and a love of nature, as well as her job.

Currently, Beth shares an active life with her husband, teenage son, Rottweiler Leonardo and two cats.  She is an avid reader and sports fan, and enjoys running, hiking, gardening and camping.

Bobbi was originally found by the humane society in 2014 as a stray kitten. They soon realized that Bobbi was not like other kittens, as he had trouble walking. Originally it was suspected that maybe Bobbi had been hit by a car or gone through some other trauma, however when radiographs at Huntington Animal Hospital revealed that Bobbi’s bones were all intact, he was diagnosed with a neurological disease called cerebellar hypoplasia. This is a congenital condition that is a result of underdevelopment of the cerebellum which is in charge of balance and coordination, and leads to Bobbi’s distinctive swagger. Bobbi’s favourite hobbies include chasing zip-ties and investigating the latest cat carrier designs of all of our feline patients. Bobbi is generally very friendly, but has also earned the nickname “Bad Bobbi” for occasional unexpected bites of people and food bags!
